The 1st annual Memeorial Ron Hutter Nostalgia Pro Stock Shootout, part of the Independence Eve Nationals, was held at one of Ohio’s oldest dragstrips, Kuhnle Motorsports Park (formerly Thompson Drag Raceway) on July 3rd. Thompson was known for its Independence Eve Pro Stock races with the likes of Sox & Martin, Bill “Grumpy” Jenkins, “Dyno Don” Nicholson and other notable drivers of the time. Local favorite Ron Hutter was always there to take on the “big guns” of Pro Stock.

This event featured the cars of the Midwest Pro Stock Association and the Southeast Nostalgia Pro Stocks. Also on hand were the United Manual Transmission Racers (UMTR) North as well as 1/8th mile and ¼ mile Box, No Box and Jr. Dragsters and 2 jet trucks and 2 jet dragsters.

Kuhnle Motorsports Park is 45 miles east of Cleveland and they have a full season of racing, including 2 big gasser events.
