2025 RockNRace

Bill Kloss text and photos

This year’s Rock & Race went into the books as yet another successful event for Don Moyer and the staff of Dragway 42. There were some rainouts and a few on track incidents but nothing to hamper any of the festivities. The first day was highlighted by the annual “Willys Reunion”, which saw a number of Willys gathered in the staging lanes for a photo shoot, and then cars were lined up on the track for a cacklefest and a brief fireworks show. There was even a jet powered Amish buggy!

Other happenings were a swap meet, a “hippie contest” where people were invited to dress up in colorful clothes form the late 60s as well as live bands performing. Plenty of food trucks and vendors and a car show gave spectators plenty to do during downtimes.

As for the track action, on hand were 4 funny cars, the ScottRods AA/Gassers and the Supercharged AA/Gassers. Larry Dixon returned with his 2-seat dragster and Jeff Lutz and son were also there. Plenty of Nostalgia Gas, Stock and Super Stock and Hot Rods filled the field. Make sure to attend next year’s Rock & Race, as this one just gets better every year! See you trackside!
