The 2019 Rock & Race at Dragway 42 in West Salem, Ohio is in the books as was one of the best editions yet with over 300 entries ranging from Nostalgia Funny Cars to Jr. Dragsters and a lot of gassers and other classes in between. Kudos go to Don Moyer for organizing and promoting an event of this magnitude.

4 Nostalgia Funny Cars of Steve Timoszyk, Rocky Pirrone, Steve Crook and Monty Stotz were real crowd pleasers as well as a jet powered Amish buggy! The Nostalgia Gas classes featured plenty of smoky burnouts and wild wheel stands to thrill the fans.
John Denski's "Rotten Orange" blown Chevy II gasser boils the hides.
The 348/409 group was in attendance with lots of Impalas and Biscaynes and even a W motored altered as well as some historic cars like the Eddie Schartman and Ronnie Sox driven Chevy Super Stockers. Rounding out the competition field were dragsters, stockers, altereds and hot rods.

Other attractions of the event were a stage for the many bands that performed nightly and a car show that included many pre-1972 muscle cars and hot rods.
If you’re in Northeast Ohio next August, you need to make this a “must see” addition to your plans.
