For the first time in the history of drag racing, jet funny cars participated in a qualified field of competition with wheel-driven funny cars at Cordova Dragway’s Twisted Shifterz Summer Nationals featuring Funny Car Chaos! Five jets were on the property and qualified for the event, which was witnessed by a capacity crowd in Illinois. One jet made it all the way to the final round of the AlkyDigger ‘B’ Field, but when it was all said and done the wheel-driven floppers claimed victory in all the CHAOS classes. Marc White wheeled Tom Motry’s “Drastic Plastic” to the Rodak’s Coffee ‘A’ Field win in their series debut. Chris Schneider piloted John Troxel’s “Brutus” to the AlkyDigger ‘B’ Field win and Kris Battey scored his first career CHAOS win over fellow first-time finalist Danny Mann in the Wulff Pumps ‘C’ Field.
